Details
The conference will take place March 14 - 16, 2008, and will consist of the following core events:

Roundtable Discussions and Testbed Sessions
Attendees should bring their questions and ideas about interactive performance to the conference.  At the roundtable discussion sessions, you will have the benefit of expert interdisciplinary minds to explore your questions and bring new perspectives to your theories regarding interactive narrative. Attendees are encouraged to pose topics and join in the discussion of others. The outcome of these discussions will be concepts and theories to put on their feet in the testbed sessions.

These sessions will provide an opportunity to test interesting theories and narrative concepts inside the StoryBox: a black box interactive performance stage, complete with cameras, lights, and the ambient sound engine. Bringing the StoryBox to life will be the UCF Interactive Performance Team, a team of inter-actors trained in acting, improvisation, story, psychology, and technology. In this fluid and adaptable testbed environment, ideas generated in the roundtable discussions will be explored in real time, giving the attendees the opportunity to make modifications that will have immediate, observable results.

Showcase Exhibition
The showcase is an opportunity for industry leaders and academic researchers, to present technology that is exploring new forms of narrative and human interaction.  All guests are invited to bring an example of existing technology that could be a platform for, or augmentation of, interactive performance. Possible examples include a virtual worlds platform; a robot controlled by artificial intelligence; or part of an interactive theme-park show. In addition to our Conference attendees, the Showcase will be open to other local guests from industry and academia.
